Image of the Day

Favorite Commercial

I saw this commercial recently and remembered how much I love it.

I get a little emotional every time I see it because it mirrors exactly how I feel about photography, and it's really the reason that I do what I do. Preserving moments in time - forever - brings me an immeasurable amount of joy and a feeling of fulfillment.

Whitebrier in Avalon, NJ

I have been meaning to post a couple of photos of the Whitebrier - I photographed a wedding there a few months back and I was really impressed with their service and quality but also the decor! The "Mermaid Cafe" room is decorated with pirates and mermaids and a really cool retro bar. They also have a tented outdoor dinner area. I remember this was a cold and windy day, but dinner in the tent was cozy, warm and completely shielded from the weather.

Here is the Whitebrier website, it really doesn't do them justice! The place is gorgeous.

And of course, the happy couple that got married that day, Jean and Chris:

Myspace

I have decided to create a Myspace for Kamila Harris Photography. I just created it and so far it is very "rough" and needs to be edited some more, and my only friend is Tom. So, if you have a Myspace, add me! :)

Bossa Nova

Lately I have been in love with bossa nova music. And I found this great version of "Fly me to the moon" recorded live at a bar in Madrid, Spain, and I just think this is great. I love the style, the sound, and the moody, dark way it's recorded. It almost makes you feel like you're sitting at the bar watching the performance.

Enjoy!

I emailed the band and they are going to provide me with an MP3 of the song to put up on my website (tons of website changes coming up very soon). Here is the band's website for those of you who speak Spanish! - http://personales.ya.com/itapua
