Here's Emily from Cheekadee in action! Emily will be one of our makeup artists at the May 11th Trash the Dress event in Philadelphia.

To grandma's house we go!

A few days ago, my sister, my brother, my neice and nephew and I piled into my sister's car, and we went to visit my grandmother Wanda. She lives a little over 2 hours north of me, so I don't get to see her that often - and when I think about it, that is no excuse, and I vow to see my grandma more often. She made us this amazing genuine Polish meal, and we just hung out and talked for a couple of hours. My grandmother called me the next day just to say how much she appreciated the visit - it was really sweet.

I brought my camera and I snapped a few photos and I liked this one in particular, my nephew Dylan (almost 4 months old already!), and his great-grandmother.

Every time I turn around...

- this is what I see. My dog, waiting for his walk.

I usually take him with me to drop off stuff at the UPS box, which is almost every day, and then we take the long way back so we both get some exercise :)

Holly and James - Engagement in Atlantic City

Holly and James, I can't believe I have to wait over a year to photograph your wedding! I had so much fun with you guys. And once again I am so sorry for making you sit down in sand full of those sticky thorny things... yikes! At least it made for some fun photos.

Holly and James are getting married at the Ballroom at the Ben in Philadelphia. It is a truly unique and beautiful location, it's going to be amazing and I really can't wait.

Friday at noon

The winners of the trash-the-dress contest will be anounced this Friday.

And - because it's so hard to choose, and because we have enough photographers and a videography team involved - we are going to be picking 6 brides.

I can't wait!

And we also have an official blog where we will keep everything together, and everyone involved can post news and photos from the shoot:
Philadelphia Trash The Dress

TTD Announcement coming soon!!!

The Trash-the-dress contest is almost done! We have received some really amazing entries and it's getting almost impossible to pick our winners. Before it gets even more difficult - we simply cannot wait any longer - we are going to be making a decision this week!!!

Today's update - we are getting a limo-bus for the day - stocked with snacks, beverages, props, and.. oh yes, of course - super giddy photographers and videographers. We are going to invade Philadelphia and give it all we've got. Be prepared to feel like a celebrity - especially when all the brides walk down the street together, surrounded by cameras.

Stay tuned for the annoucement, coming in a matter of days!!

Trash the Dress - May 11th

We are just about ready to pick our winners for the Trash the Dress contest - this might be your last chance to enter so send your pix/story to!

Original post with all the info here

Here is a couple fun videos I found of a Trash the Dress session - this is kind of what you can expect on May 11th in Philadelphia. Each bride will get a video and photos of the session - from more than one photographer. We have 5 photographers involved - Cindy Patrick, Sarah Schulte, Stephanie Sherwood, Paul Roebuck, and myself, as well as Ken Stillman Video. It's going to be an amazing day!

Lambertville House

Yesterday I traveled up to Lambertville to do a boudoir session for a beautiful bride-to-be. We did the photoshoot at the Lambertville House and it was such a cool place - the whole town is really cute, full of antique shops and vintage clothing stores. If you're looking for a cool place to take a day-trip or spend a weekend, I definitely recommend it!

Brooke and Jim - Philly Engagement Session

What a beautiful day for a photoshoot in Philadelphia - sunny and almost 60 degrees! We arrived at the Art Museum to find it almost completely covered up in scaffolding - but not to worry! There are still tons of cool spots around the area so we walked around and found them.

Today is my parents' 30 year wedding anniversary! They were high school sweethearts, together since they were 16 years old!

Happy anniversary mom and dad!!!

This is one of my favorite photos of them... I just love it!

After posting the recent boudoir photos and info, I am getting tons of requests for boudoir sessions for this spring and summer. It is really amazing - I feel totally flattered and humbled that so many of you love my work! I cannot express my appreciation enough. And as much as I hate turning people away, unfortunately I am all booked up for the rest of 2008 when it comes to weddings and boudoir sessions.

I have already allocated the time necessary for post-production of scheduled events, and booking any additional full-day sessions (even during the week) would put a strain on my turn-around time, which I do not want to happen. Each wedding and full day boudoir session yields about 1500 images and requires anywhere from 2-4 weeks of full-time work, from post-production and editing, to album design, etc. and like most artists, I work best when I'm not rushed. This exclusive attention is a great benefit to each client and I do not want to jeopardize that.

When it comes to shorter sessions like engagements, family portraits, trash-the-dress and anniversary photography - those sessions are usually more local, and involve only about an hour of photography so there is less post-production involved - I will still be booking a limited amount of those sessions on weekdays this summer.

Now that the sun is staying out longer, we can do beach sessions as late as 6 p.m. and soon will be able to go even later (and it will be warm!!) but please make sure to contact me and schedule your engagement session as soon as possible. As of right now, I do not have any more available weekends.

Of course I am not shooting weddings every single day of every weekend for the next 40 weeks - I do reserve time off to spend with my family and friends, which is worth more to me than anything - and those dates on my calendar are precious - and just as important as a wedding weekend and simply cannot be double-booked :)

2008 is shaping up to be a very busy year and I am really enjoying it so far! The weddings I photographed in January and February, and all of my boudoir and portrait clients so far have been absolutely great to work with, I have been trying so many new things and I'm just so pumped and excited for each and every photo session! I can't wait to provide all my upcoming brides and grooms and b-pic girls with the best possible photos! And once again thank you all for your support, for reading my blog (I never think anyone reads this thing lol) and for keeping in touch and just being the best - I am looking forward to working with you all!

Tony and Lillian

Today I had the pleasure of spending a few hours photographing and chatting with Tony and Lillian - who just recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. One of my favorite moments was when I asked what advice they have for couples who are just getting married, or have been married a short time. Tony said "Respect. If you don't have respect, you don't have each other." And Lillian added "Patience." How true that is! It wasn't all serious though, we spent most of the time laughing and joking. I look forward to seeing Tony and Lillian again in October when I photograph their granddaughter's wedding :)

busy busy bee

Spring is almost here! Can you feel it? Temps are starting to warm up and I am just hoping it stays this way.

This is definitely the season for boudoir sessions - I had another session with 3 beautiful girls on Sunday, and another one is coming up this Sunday, and the Sunday after that, etc. etc. I have really been enjoying working with Lina of Makeup by Lina and I'll also be working with Emily of Cheekadee ,who did the makeup at Lori's wedding back in January, so I'm excited to work with her as well! So I've been super busy getting all the photos edited and fabulous. Then the girls pick their 20 favorites and they get put into these leather albums of 5x7's.

I am currently booking for boudoir sessions for January - March of 2009. Same as this year, once the busy wedding season really hits i won't be doing boudoir sessions so I can focus on weddings, so there is limited availability.

(the most photographed chandelier of all time)

*photos from boudoir sessions are never published on the blog or anywhere without client permission*

Ever wonder what it is I do during wardrobe changes at boudoir shoots? Well, here it is. I dance around the room (we always have music on) .. jump on the bed and take pictures of myself in the mirror - what else? Usually they all get deleted but a few survived from this past weekend's shoot. haha!
